Design and Implementation of an Electronic Circuit to Detect Breath Alcohol to Prevent Ignition of the Automotive if the Driver is Under the Influence of Alcohol

En este artículo se realiza una descripción detallada del diseño y construcción de un dispositivo electrónico capaz de detectar la presencia de alcohol en el aliento. Este dispositivo sirve para evitar que se conduzca un vehículo automotor bajo los efectos del alcohol y permitirá reducir el alto índice de accidentalidad por esta causa. También permite que los estudiantes  desarrollen  nuevas tecnologías innovadoras con la utilización de hardware y software abierto en la implementación de soluciones a problemas cotidianos. 

In this article provides a detailed description of the design and construction of an electronic device able to detect the presence of breath alcohol.  This device is useful in preventing driving an automotive vehicle under the effects of alcohol and enables reducing the high rate of accidents caused by this. It also enables students to develop new innovative technologies using open hardware and software in implementing solutions to everyday problems.
